A: This is an intensive 5 day training course, however self-practise and mentorship is on-going.

Q. How much can a professional celebrant charge for a wedding?

A: A celebrant can charge €450-€650 per ceremony.

Q. Is there full-time work as a celebrant?

A: Many celebrants work full-time, depending on the path they choose to take following training. The option of part-time or full-time depends greatly on the amount of work an individual is willing to put in to advertising, social media etc. This is a big part of our training; getting everyone set up during our course.

Q. What other services, besides weddings, can be offered as a celebrant?

A: A celebrant can officiate weddings, vow renewals, baby namings, celebration of life ceremonies and any milestone event which requires your service. It is up to each celebrant to be creative and suggestive in their offerings and how they advertise themselves.

Q. Are travel costs included with the price of a celebrant?

A: You may charge extra for mileage and parking. All costs must be clearly outlined in your ceremony contract, signed on payment of ceremony deposit.

Q. Why train as a professional celebrant in Dungarvan?

A: I, myself, trained in Dublin over a Summer and found it was an extremely expensive experience when taking course and assessment days, parking, travel, accommodation, food costs etc into account. Training in Dungarvan allows for a more relaxed experience, which can be combined with a break away.

Q. Can a professional celebrant perform legal ceremonies?

A: A celebrant is not a solemniser. You would need to be a registered solemniser to register with HSE in order to perform legal ceremonies. Many celebrants connect with groups which can offer them solemniser opportunities, paying a commission to the governing group. Many stay independent and offer their bespoke services while leading clients through the legal process.
